Graduate Employability Toolkit

The Brief

This project was developed for an Australian university in its social sciences degrees. Each course requires students to seek and complete a clinical industry placement.  Surveys indicated that students feel under-prepared when applying for placements and jobs as new graduates, particularly for international students, and students with English as a Second Language (ESL).

The University have asked for a review of their current graduate program, and are looking to streamline their resources in the areas of employability and industry accreditation processes for these students.

The Solution

This project collaborated with Student Success Coaches and Academics to design and launch an Employability Readiness Graduate Program.

The online toolkit and coaching program prepares students in their clinical placement; develop their industry insights; build job-readiness confidence; create a professional profile and networking skills.

The components consisted of a resource library of multimedia content and infographics, with access to ongoing career coaching sessions for further learning.

The Outcomes

Effective streamline of process in preparing students for clinical industry placement and graduate employability.

Increased motivation, confidence and success from students gaining jobs after graduation.

Easier access to information about clinical placements and the accreditation process with relevant industry bodies.
